sculpture
"Adam" is an abstract steel sculpture created around 1966 by Alexander Liberman, formerly located at the south end of East Potomac Park in Washington, D.C. The sculpture is no longer present at this site and was documented in James M. Goode's 1974 book "Outdoor Sculpture," but omitted from his 2008 update. The work exemplifies Liberman's abstract style and is associated with the Storm King Art Center, a major sculpture venue. Its removal highlights changes in public art curation and preservation in the nation's capital.
