The Gwenfritz sculpture is a large steel stabile by Alexander Stirling Calder, installed in 1969 at the Smithsonian American History Museum in Washington, D.C. Named for Mrs. Gwendolyn Cafritz, it is one of Calder's most important works. Calder was known for his mobiles and abstract sculptures, with works displayed in major museums nationwide. The sculpture is located in The Mall area near Constitution Avenue and 14th Street NW.
