This bronze and marble statue of John Marshall by William Wetmore Story is located in Marshall Park, Washington, D.C., within the Judiciary Square and East Downtown area. It commemorates Marshall's tenure as Chief Justice of the United States from 1801 to 1835. The original statue was moved from the Capitol to the Supreme Court basement in 1981. The park also marks the site of Marshall's former residence.
