Pershing Park in Washington, D.C. honors General John J. Pershing, the only person to hold the rank of General of the Armies during his lifetime. Pershing led the American Expeditionary Force in World War I and influenced many World War II generals. The park is located near E and 14th Streets NW and features the nearby Pershing Monument. It is accessible from the Federal Triangle Metro station.
