PULASKI, Brigadier General Count Casimir: Memorial at Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C. by Kazimierz Chodzinski

The Brigadier General Count Casimir Pulaski Memorial is a bronze equestrian statue located at Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C., created by sculptor Kazimierz Chodzinski and architect Albert R. Ross. Erected in 1910, it honors Pulaski, a Polish nobleman and Revolutionary War hero who served as chief cavalry officer for the American forces. Pulaski was mortally wounded at the Battle of Savannah and died in 1779. The memorial celebrates his role in the American fight for independence and his legacy as a symbol of international support.
