The Taras Shevchenko Memorial in Washington, D.C. commemorates the Ukrainian poet and national hero who championed freedom and independence. Created by Leo Mol and Radoslav Zuk, the bronze and granite monument was unveiled in 1964 to mark Shevchenko's 150th birthday.
