The Tripoli Monument at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, is the oldest U.S. military monument, honoring naval heroes of the First Barbary War (1801–1805). Carved in Italy in 1806 by Giovanni C. Micali from Carrera marble, it commemorates six men who died in attacks on Tripoli. The monument features allegorical figures and a rostral column and was brought to the U.S. aboard the USS Constitution. It has been located at the Naval Academy since 1860 and was renovated in 2000.
