The Apotheosis of Democracy tympanum is a marble sculpture created circa 1916 by Paul Wayland Bartlett and Thomas U. Walter, located on the east front south portico of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. It features allegorical and mythological themes and complements the Neoclassical architecture of the Capitol building. The Capitol serves as the seat of the U.S. Congress and is situated atop Capitol Hill at the east end of the National Mall. This artwork is accessible near the Capitol South Metro station.
