The War & Peace statue at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. was designed circa 1835 by Charles Bulfinch and Luigi Persico and installed in 1853, later recarved in 1960. Located in niches on the Capitol's east front central portico, the marble sculpture represents allegorical and mythological themes. It is part of the Capitol's rich Neoclassical architectural and artistic ensemble and is accessible via the nearby Capitol South Metro station.
