The Alligator Gargoyle (39) is a limestone carving located on the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., designed by Carl Tucker and carved by Edward Ratti. Positioned on the south nave's outer aisle, it is one of over 120 unique gargoyles that decorate the Cathedral. These sculptures serve both functional and decorative roles, contributing to the Cathedral's Gothic Revival architecture. The Cathedral is situated near Massachusetts and Wisconsin Avenues NW, close to the Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan Metro station.
