The "Rooster Under Attack" is a limestone gargoyle located on the southwest tower of the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Created by stonecarver Constantine Seferlis with design by Peter Rockwell, it is one of many unique grotesques decorating the cathedral. Positioned on the second floor, southeast corner, east-facing side, it contributes to the cathedral's rich Gothic architectural ornamentation. The gargoyle is part of a well-documented series of sculptures that blend artistic expression with traditional architectural function.
